 Sequence for Donning  and Doffing of PPE

Sequence for Donning of PPE

Step-1 Wash hands with soap and water

Step-2.Wear shoe cover

Step-3.Wear 1st pair of gloves

Step-4.Wear gown

Step-5.Wear the mask/respirator (check for any leaks)

Step-6.Wear goggles/face shield

Step-7.Wear hood

Step-8.Wear 2nd pair of gloves

Step-9.Gown fitness check (ask buddy to help)

Sequence for Doffing of PPE

Step-1.Check for any leak or soiling in PPE before doffing (disinfect site if contaminated)

Step-2.Disinfect the hands while wearing gloves (similar to hand hygiene procedure)

Step-3 Remove shoe covers only by touching the outer surface (by sitting on DIRTY chair)

Step-4.Perform hand hygiene

Step-5.Remove outer gloves

Step-6.Perform hand hygiene

Step-7.Remove hood

Step-8.Perform hand hygiene

Step-9.Remove gown

Step-10.Perform hand hygiene

Step-11.Remove goggles/face shield

Step-12.Perform hand hygiene.

Step-13.Remove second pair of gloves

Step-14.Perform hand hygiene

Step-15.Wear new pair for gloves

Step-16.Remove mask (don't touch the front of mask, handle with slings/bands)

Step-17.Perform hand hygiene

Step-18.Clean all pocket articles (Pens and scissors) with alcohol swab/disinfectant

Step-19.Perform hand hygiene

Step -20.Clean shoes with alcohol swabs (by sitting on CLEAN chair)

Step-21.Remove last pair of gloves and perform hand hygiene
